A Novel photocatalyst has been developed using titanium dioxide (TiO2) and egg-based biomass (E) and their efficiency for photocatalytic oxidation of methylene blue (MB) dye was investigated. The integrations and surface characterization of E-TiO2 were carried out using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The effect of experimental parameters such as TiO2 concentration, irradiation Time, initial pH of the solution, and operating temperature on the photoxidation of MB were studied in detail. Also, the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the photocatalysis process were evaluated. The synthesized E-TiO2 nanomaterials successfully oxidized the MB dye under UV light irradiation. The results indicated that this photocatalyst provides fast kinetics of MB dye with reaction rate of 9.8x10-3 min-1. The maximum conversion of MB dye was acheved is 93.32 % using the sample of E-TiO2-1. The photocatalytic method produces high quality water due to the effective oxidation of MB dye without generation of any hazardous wastes or by-products. Besides, the produced water could be used in various human activities.
