Organization of multicomponent materials at the nanoscale has a significant impact on the properties of materials including cellular adhesion and signaling, electron transport, and mechanical properties.  However, controlling the organization of such materials at the nanoscale remains a significant challenge.  We will present recent work on the development of several different methods to create nanostructured materials using AFM and microsphere lithography-based methods.  These methods provide a means of creating nanoscale patterns of a variety of materials on substrates including insulators, metals, and semiconductors.  These methods allow precise positioning of multiple components with sizes and spacing down to the nanometer scale and provide significant flexibility in the assembling materials spanning metals, metal oxides, proteins, and organic molecules. <br/>
