Supercapacitors are regarded as the assistant or replaced alternative to batteries due to their fast charge/discharge rate, but it is still challenging to design the novel electrode materials with high power density, long cycling life, environmental protection, and maintenance-free features. This work demonstrates a strategy to fabricate the Co–doped reduced graphene oxide (Co-rGO) nanocomposite by a facile one-pot solvothermal reaction, and applied as the supercapacitors electrode materials. In order to obtain the optimal electrochemical characteristics of Co-rGO, different doping ratios of Co precursor reagents was added into graphene oxide, and the obtained Co-rGO nanocomposite provided a high specific capacity of 133.8F g−1, and energy density of 0.465mWh g−1 at the scan rate of 20 mV s−1, calculated based on the CV curves. Their excellent capacitance is mainly owing to the unique and robust ripple-like wrinkled architecture, which allow ions to readily penetrate into the composite electrodes and access their internal surfaces, resulting in shorting the diffusion distance and facilitating ion transport to improve energy storage properties.
