Polymers that incorporate dynamic covalent bonds have programmable reconfigurability in the condensed phase, which has implications for polymer processing for both manufacturing and recycling. Here I will describe our recent efforts in understanding and controlling such dynamic bonds in the condensed phase, with a particular focus on new "clickable" dynamic covalent bonding motifs.  Our dynamic covalent polymer networks (i.e., vitrimers) overcome many of the challenges in the field, particularly regarding activation barriers to bond exchange, attaining high glass transition temperatures, and de-polymerization toward expedient monomer recovery for re-use.  Our work suggests that we are only at the beginning of a revolution in smarter polymers holistically designed for manufacturing, performance, durability, and sustainability.
