We will describe the effect of guanidine ring sizes on the coordination chemistry of chelating guanidine ligands such as 2,6-bis(tbo)pyridine and 2,6-bis(tbd)pyridine, where tbo is triazabicylcooctenyl (fused 5-membered rings) and tbd is triazabicylcodecenyl (fused 6-membered rings). In addition, the synthesis and coordination chemistry of sterically hindered monocyclic guanidines will be described.
