In 2018 the ACS national meeting returns to the city in which a meeting between GDCh and ACS leaders at the end of the 20th century led to an international student exchange program that has been sustained throughout the 21st century. During this time the program has supported delegations of chemistry students from across Germany who have visited research venues and participated in national and regional ACS meetings in the northeastern US, and delegations of students from from the Northeastern Local Section (NESACS) who have visited sites throughout Germany where the GDCh JungChemikerForum (JCF) held its annual spring symposium. We will describe how the continued success of the program is linked to financial support from GDCh, NESACS, and corporate sponsors, and to the planning and logistical support and boundless energy of members of JCF and NESACS' Younger Chemists Committee.
