Electrochemical oxidation produces oxidant from anode and react with organic pollutant on/near the surface of anode. <br/>Advanced oxidation processes that produce hydroxyl radicals at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure are promising water treatment technology. Hydroxyl radicals are highly reactive electrophiles that react rapidly and non-selectively with the electron rich sites of organic compounds and capable of mineralizing organic compounds into carbon dioxide and water. This study generates hydroxyl radicals using electrochemical oxidation by designing anode using computational chemistry. The experimental results showed the effect of current density, initial concentration of target organic compounds, pH, electrolyte concentrations, and mass transfer impact.  Capital expenditure and operational expenditure were considered and full scale reactor was design to demonstrate the treatment of reverse osmosis concentrate.
