Recently, our lab has developed a copper-catalyzed regioselective boracarboxylation of vinyl arenes. This transformation affords access to β-boryl-α-aryl carboxylic acid derivatives. Through the addition of a secondary ligand, we have demonstrated the ability to achieve catalysis at lower catalyst loadings and expansion of substrate scope. These novel compounds also allow for a new point of functionalization. The synthetic utility of these compounds in subsequent reactions such as fluorination and cross-coupling will be discussed.<br/>
