Metal catalyzed cross-coupling reactions belong to the most important transformations in organic synthesis. In the last three decades, using palladium, copper and nickel catalysts, considerable progress has been made in the development of methods for the construction of sp2 C-N bonds. Copper catalysis has received great attention owing to the low toxicity and low cost of copper. However, the use of C-H activation for sp2 C-N bond formation remains one of the major challenges in the field of cross-coupling chemistry.
