Determination of the biochemical range of pH 6.5 to 8 for physiological and biomedical studies were made. The pK2 values of TES buffer solution at five temperatures 5, 15, 25, 37, and 45°C were calculated. Potentiometric measurements were made with Harned-Robinson type galvanic cell: Pt, H2 (g, 1 atm) | TES (m1) + NaTESate (m2) + NaCl (m3) | AgCl, Ag. The pK2 values at 25 and 37°C are 7.550 and 7.336 respectively. Thermodynamic quantities (ΔG°, ΔS°, ΔH°) were been determined at 25°C. Results will be discussed and compared with similar buffers, such as HEPPS and PIPES.
