Accurate transition energies in Li-like ions are important in multiple atomic physics research fields, including astrophysical and laboratory plasmas, and theoretical and experimental atomic spectroscopy. Li-like ions are also one of the best systems to test and study quantum electrodynamics (QED) effects because of the high accuracy of available measurements. In the present work, we employed a fully relativistic method to calculate the energy level of Li-like ions, including valence and core excitations. The calculated energy levels were compared with the recommended values from the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST). In general, our results are in excellent agreement with NIST values for valence energy levels. In the case of core-excitations, our results agree with the NIST values, but the deviations are higher. Our results indicate that some of core-excitation levels for Li-ions in the NIST database need to be revised.
