Embedding compounds in a thin film and exposing it to an electric field can induce a Stark shift in the absorbance spectrum of the species, and give valuable information on the dipole moment behavior and malleability. This experiment will explore the extent of absorption shift of Ln/An complexes to elucidate information on different transitions and charge transfer bands.
