The ACS student chapter at UTPB engages our community in the field of chemistry. Our members get younger students interested in chemistry through our volunteer committee and going out to various elementary schools to perform demonstrations. We visit two to five schools each semester. Our club fundraises money by selling ACS study guides for general chemistry and organic chemistry as well as common lab materials such as lab goggles and lab notebooks. We strive to make every chemistry club meeting fun by doing interesting experiments such as nitrogen ice cream. Additionally, we participate in several campus events held throughout the year, such as the Halloween Carnival, to help develop a love of chemistry in our community and recruit new students into our field.<br/>
