The latest progress in solution processed organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite materials (HPM)-based solar cells is reshaping the growth pattern of any previous photovoltaic technologies and has raised a storm of research effort. In seeking their commerical applications, the chemical stability of HPM is a persisting challenge in addition to the lead toxicity. In this talk, we will show that the chemical stability of HPM can be improved by certain dopants in the structure as rivets. In addition, isotoped HPM provides a deep understanding of the origin of the optoelectronic properties of HPM. Furthermore, when the bond length and bond angles of HPM are modulated by hydrostatic pressure, the optoelectronic properties of HPM undergo astonishing behaviors, which provide additional fundamental insight to the structure-property relationships in HPMs.
