Throughout the world, people are coming to the realization that naturopathic methods are an effective alternative to allopathic methods, as they show favorable results with minimal and less invasive side effects. Though the effects of allopathic remedies are potent, side effects of antibiotics such as metronizole and tinidazole include sever nausea, vomiting, skin flushing, dizziness, and drowsiness; naturopathic remedies for skin infections can eliminate these discomforting aftereffects. Staphylococcus is a bacterium found commonly on skin, which causes boils, impetigo, and cellulitis and Trichophyton is a genus of fungi that are associated with the parasites that cause tinea, athlete’s foot, and jock itch; through our research we have been able to analyze the growth of these species and formulate surfaces that will prevent the development of these unpleasant skin infections while demonstrating UV protection on skin. To generate these antimicrobial/antifungal surfaces Ucuuba butter, Tamanu butter, and Aloe Vera butter are infused synergistically with various concentrations of natural oils which include chaulmoogra oil, Jamaican black castor oil, dragons blood, coconut oil, vertiver oil, black cumin oil, hemp oil, red raspberry seed oil, avocado oil, grape seed oil, and carrot seed oil. The surfaces generate were then tested against the bacteria strains E. coli and S. arueus, as well as UV light for resistance. We herein report the preparation of these novel surfaces along with the antimicrobial and UV efficacy.
