Considerable fluorescence enhancement is achieved in crystalline state by encapsulating organic luminous molecules into cyclodextrin metal-organic frameworks (CD-MOFs). Then, we developed an unprecedented core-shell structured CD-MOFs with different dyes encapsulation through epitaxial seeded growth strategy. Furthermore, only with the rational spatial distribution of dyes encapsulation, can the core-shell structured CD-MOFs realize polychromatic light emitting by spectrum superposition. Based on this new method, we further developed white light emitting core-shell crystal, CD-MOF⊇7-HCm@FL@RhB (shell@core). With ordered and adjustable three layers of different dyes, it emits bright white light with a CIE coordinate of (0.35, 0.32). In another contribution, different core-shell structured CD-MOFs can realize delayed release and bimodal release of mono-component, and ordered release of bi-component, which establishes the basis for future complicated programming cargo release system. Our findings may encourage efforts towards multifunctional host-guest systems in crystalline state.
