UK-1, isolated from <i>Streptomyces </i>sp. 517-02, shows cytotoxic activity against various solid tumors. It contains two five-membered N,O-heteroatom benzoxazole rings, and various total syntheses have been developed and reported. Unlike those routes using hazardous chemical reagents and requiring multiple steps, here we report a new pathway for green synthesis of New UK-1 analogs (NUK-1) in three steps by microwave reactions. Shorter route is applied, two chemical reagents are needed and less toxic chemical waste are produced. This matches the goal of Green Chemistry. Detail information will be discussed in the meeting.
