Forensic science is an often-misunderstood field because pop culture has sped up the apparent process of solving crimes. This misperception even has its own name: The CSI Effect. I aim to address this misconception primarily through outreach work geared towards revealing the “secrets” behind solving mysteries and making the correct knowledge more accessible to the public.
