RLIP76 (RalBP1) is a protein capable of multiple cellular functions including transporting compounds from the cytoplasm into the extracellular matrix. The transport activity for the human isoform of RLIP76 has garnered most of the attention around world, as transport activity is a potential target for cancer therapy. Outside of humans and your classical laboratory species, there is limited information across the biome about RLIP76 capacity to transport. Using modern genetic annotation techniques, we have demonstrated potential genomic targets of RLIP76 in variety of non-classical scientific species across the biome. Gene products are examined for their possibility to be expressed in recombinant bacteria for protein purification as part of the RLIP76 transporter assay. Our results are mixed as identification of presented gene targets presented unexpected challenges.
