Li-ion superionic solid conductors have attracted lots of attentions for all-solid-state batteries. Sulfide solid electrolytes are one class of promising candidates due to their favorable high ionic conductivities, such as lithium argyrodites Li7PS6 and halide doped materials Li6PS5X (X=Cl, Br, I). The feasibility of lithium argyrodites family as the solid electrolytes for all-solid-state batteries has been demonstrated. Compared with the ball milling and solid-state reactions, liquid-based approach is more favorable for large-scale synthesis and its practical applications for all-solid-state Li batteries. In this presentation, we will introduce the liquid-based synthesis of halide-doped lithium argyrodites Li6PS5X (X=Cl, Br, I), which show high phase purity and impressive ionic conductivities (10-4 Scm-1). In addition, the effect of halide doping on the structural and conductive properties of Li6PS5X solid electrolytes will be presented.
