In this talk, we will present that Fe co-addition stabilizes Pt in a dispersedly state in the micropore of zeolite and such materials shows unique superior catalytic performance. Generally, when only Pt was loaded on zeolite, Pt easily aggregates onto the external surface of zeolite to form large particles during heat treatment even though Pt was monoatomically loaded in the micropore of zeolite. However, we have recently found that Fe loaded on zeolite together with Pt uniquely inhibits the sintering and aggregation of Pt even at temperatures as high as 800 K. Such Fe addition on Pt/zeolites substantially depresses undesirable cracking in the <i>n-</i>heptane skeletal isomerization. In addition, FePt/zeolite is an unprecedented highly active, selective and durable catalyst for the direct dehydrogenation of alkane, such as ethane and propane.
