We wish to share the results of a two-year collaboration through the ACS and AACT of a high school teacher and his students with a college professor and his students. Our collaboration has been involved with: 1) How Green Chemistry can be integrated into a k-16 curriculum?, 2) that the ACS Science Coaches program can be whatever you make it, including mentoring high school students and the research experience, 3) how networking through the ACS and the AACT can be beneficial for all of the parties involved, 4) Research that is green and deals with sustainability is very relevant to high school students, and 5) How the 12 principles of green chemistry can be worked into a high school learning experience. This lattermost information has to be disseminated before students enter college, since the last STEM class most students take is in high school.
