Metamaterials are tailored man-made assemblies of sub-wavelength metallic building blocks that are densely packed into effective materials. This talk focuses on novel fabrication techniques for creating mesoscale 2D and 3D structures that can potentially serve as functional metamaterials. We have developed bottom-up synthesis approaches with macromolecular templates for metallization to create nanoscale structures and to enable their higher-level 2D and 3D mesoscale organization and alignment.<br/>
