Yolk–shell nanomaterials with a rattle-like structure have been considered ideal carriers and nanoreactors. Traditional methods to constructing yolk–shell nanostructures mainly rely on multistep sacrificial template strategy. Herein, we have developed a facile strategy to construct yolk-shell structures via different shrinkage behavior on MOF@MOF with template-free method. The middle hollow void could be precisely controlled with different heat treatment conditions, such as temperature, time, gas and rate.This shrinkage strategy could open up new opportunities for fabricating demanded core or shell MOF composites. The yolk-shell MOF@MOF composites also allow a simultaneous encapsulation of different metal nanoparticles into the hollow space. Due to the unique yolk structure, the as-prepared nanomaterials could be served as ideal nanoreactors for heterogeneous catalysis, which show excellent catalysis efficiency and stability.<br/><br/>
