Synthesis and characterization of the ferrocenyl chalcones with different substituents in the phenyl ring has been the focus of many research investigations; nevertheless the biological activity of these compounds has not been studied as much. In literature, compounds with amino, acetamide, methoxy, and fluorine as substituents in the phenyl moiety and heterocycles, like pyridinyl, have been reported with biological activity as antioxidants, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiplatelet aggregation, antimalarial, anticancer and antibacterial. Based on this, we aim to synthesize the mono and disubstituted ferrocenyl chalcones with these pharmacologically active substituents.Our hypothesis is that the biological activity reported for the aimed substituents will be maintained or enhanced in our mono ferrocenyl chalcones and will increase, with the duplicity of these groups, in the disubstituted chalcones. For the synthesis of these mono and disubstituted compounds, we used a base catalyzed Claisen-Schmidt condensation with varying temperatures and molar ratio conditions, obtaining pure products ranging from 38% to 80% yield. Some of them have been obtained in short reaction times. However, for the disubstituted compounds, a mixture of the non-symmetric disubstituted product and the desired disubstituted ferrocenyl chalcone product have been obtained in some of the reactions, but both products have been isolated and characterized. The complete synthetic methodology, IR, <sup>1</sup>H and <sup>13</sup>C NMR characterization, and the radical scavenging, anti-cancer (MDA-MB-231, HeLa, and PC-3 cell lines) and cytotoxicity activity of these compounds will be elaborated. For some of them, the crystallographic structure will also be presented.
