A copper catalyzed multicomponent reaction of tosyl azide, terminal alkynes and various nucleophiles have been successfully explored in the synthesis of dihydroisoquinolines. We also report the exploration of a complementary rhodium catalyzed reaction to provide differentially substituted dihydroisoquinolines.
