Multinuclear copper complexes have been of much interest in catalysis, electron transfer and magnetism. Tri- and hexanuclear copper pyrazolato complexes have been studied with regard to their topology, redox and magnetic properties. We have now synthesized a series of related open-cage, Pac-Man-like hexanuclear complexes consisting of two trinuclear Cu3N6 metallacycles in a trigonal prismatic arrangement held together by pyrazolato ligands and a µ3/4-choride ion. In this presentation, we will discuss the structural, magnetic, NMR, and far-IR characteristics that these complexes exhibit.
