Alginate dressings are one of the most used wound care materials since they have high absorption potential and are suitable to treat the wound with a large amount of exudate. To develop their performance, the natural bioactive compounds obtained from Aloe vera (Aloe Barbardensis) and Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa) were added in the process of film formation.  Aloe vera is extensively studied for wound and skin cares, and their effects are approved thorough many studies. There are several studies done about the anti-inflammatory activity of Cat’s claw to treat Rheumatism. In this study, characterizations of each compounds i.e. alginate, aloe vera, and cat’s claw was carried out by measuring FT-IR, UV-Vis spectrometry, H1-NMR and GPC. Alginate biofilms with Aloe vara and Cat’s claw were prepared following cast-dry method. The films were further tested in terms of swelling behavior, erosion rate, tensile strength, breaking strain, and antioxidant activity. The morphology of alginate film was also studied by SEM analysis.<br/>
