For more than 40 years, biosorption has been studied as a means of removing heavy metals from water and soil.  More often than not, the biosorbent is a plant material that may undergo mutations in the wild. In the present work, rye grass is exposed to mutagenic conditions and its effectiveness as a biosorbent is compared to that of the wild-type grass.<br/>
