Plant materials are known for their ability to adsorb heavy metals from aqueous solutions, with biosorption capacity varying from species to species.  There is currently no way to predict whether a particular biomass will be a good biosorbent without performing sorption experiments in the laboratory. In the present study, efforts are made to correlate the structure of a biomass to its biosorptive potential.<br/>
