Every organic chemistry teacher knows the challenge of trying to help students learn essential concepts, develop the ability to usefully apply those concepts and build problem-solving skills.  In this presentation, attendees will learn effective, innovative methods for teaching organic chemistry so that students learn 3-dimensionally.  When students truly LEARN (Label, Evaluate, Apply, Refresh, iNtegrate), they become skilled at logically and clearly applying essential principles of organic chemistry.  As a result, they become proficient at successfully predicting the result of any carbon-based reaction in organic chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and other related disciplines.  These methods have been objectively tested for several years, and are highly successful.  When using these techniques, comprehensive test scores have soared by approximately 20%.  Student performance on national standardized tests has frequently been in the 99<sup>th</sup> percentile.  In addition, these teaching techniques help students retain information in long term memory, seamlessly correlate concepts, and apply information and analysis skills to newly encountered situations.  This method also helps to accomplish some of the most important goals of science education including preparing students to understand complex ideas, to be life-long learners, to interpret new discoveries in science, to tackle new questions in research, and to apply acquired knowledge and skills to other disciplines.<br/>
