Mechanochemistry emerged as one of the most interesting synthetic protocols to produce new materials. Solvent-free methodologies lead to unique chemical process during the synthesis with the consequent formation of nanomaterials with new properties. The development of mechanochemistry as synthetic method is supported by excellent results in a wide range of applications.<br/>This contribution was aimed to provide a simple methodology towards new supported nanomaterials based on supported nanoparticles (Zr, Fe and Aluminum oxides, among others) via mechanochemistry using directly metal precursors as well as small quantities of MOFs. The work will provide interesting insights into the mechanochemical synthesis of the materials vs conventional syntheses (e.g. via impregnation) and the catalytic utilisation of such materials in chemistries including the selective oxidations of benzyl alcohol, various sulfides to sulfoxides and isoeugenol to vanillin as well as the esterification of valeric acid to alkyl valerates.<br/>
