Historically the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry II has been a course dedicated to organic synthesis, buy lately a problematic has arisen with an increasing lack of interest and indisposition from the students based on two factors: the poor relation between the theory class and the laboratory, and the excesive amount of time they have to invest (12-16 hours/week) in contrast with the one credit "cost" of the course. To address and solve this situation, a didactic strategy was designed, with two objectives: 1) Change the experiments and their distribution in groups or "blocks of knowledge" such as Abilities in the Laboratory, Introduction to Organics Synthesis and Chemistry of Biomolecules; and 2) Variations in the lab report system to improve the efficient use of time. The strategy was assessed using a spanish version of pre- and post-MLLI (Meaningful Learning in the Laboratory Instrument) with good results.
