This presentation will describe the development of nickel-catalyzed intermolecular, three-component carboacylation of alkenes. This work represents the first examples of intermolecular, three-component carboacylation of alkenes via activation of amide C-N bonds. The reaction occurs in the presence of a simple nickel (0) catalyst to form desired products and suppresses the formation of side products generated from undesired Suzuki-Miyaura, Mizoroki-Heck and hydroarylation pathways. The developed protocol allows formation of carboacylation products in 20-91% yields. Mechanistic insights will be discussed in this presentation.
