Using isothermal titration calorimetry, the enthalpy is micelle dissolution (Δ<i>H</i><sub>dissol</sub>) and temperature dependence of the critical micelle concentrations (CMC) for cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) haves been obtained over the temperature range 21-37°C. The critical micelle concentrations for the two surfactants increases slightly with an increase in temperature. Co-solvent effects on the CMC are examined for solutions of 3, 6, & 9% methanol co-solvent in water. Using dynamic light scattering, micelle particle size has been obtained in the various methanol-water solutions for both surfactants.
