Charge Enhanced Dry Impregnation (CEDI) combines the ease of impregnation to incipient wetness (or dry impregnation) with the small particle size resulting from electrostatic adsorption [1,2]. In this talk, the limits of CEDI are tested by its application to SBA-15, a form of silica featuring bundles of mesoporous tubes with extremely long aspect ratios. That is to say, the long diffusion distance of the SBA-15 pores of silica represents a challenge to the attainment of adsorption equilibium. Ammine complexes of Pt, Pd, Ni, Co, and Cu are employed. High sensitivity powder XRD and aberration-corrected STEM were used for characterization.<br/><br/>We will demonstrate the achievement of adsorption equilibrium and the attainment of ultra-small particle size (less than 2 nm) by employing CEDI in three steps: using single metals at various metal loadings over SBA-15, synthesizing small and homogeneously alloyed bimetallic particles over amorphous silica (as has previously been demonstrated with the method of strong electrostatic adorption (SEA) [3], and finally by synthesizing bimetallic nanopartilces over SBA-15.<br/><br/>
