The utilization of 1,5-enynes as precursors to allenyl malonates has been limited previously due to thermal instability of the desired products. The development of a reductive enyne Cope rearrangement increases the utility of this transformation. Polycyclic scaffolds seen in numerous terpenoid natural products are now more easily accessed through these allenyl malonate intermediates.<br/>
