High nuclearity transition metal nitride molecules are of interest for a variety of reasons, including magnetic and structural properties. These species with metals in mid- to high-valent oxidation states are quite rare. In our search for synthetic routes to such molecules, we have discovered adducts with the formula [Cl3M●N(SnMe3)3]1−. The synthesis, structure, and magnetic properties of these complexes will be presented.
