We have developed a new measurement capability: simultaneous Raman spectroscopy, optical microscopy and rheology through coupled instrumentation.  The instrument is especially suited for soft matter systems where the flow properties are coupled to conformation, structural or chemical properties that are sensitive to temperature, UV exposure, or shear.  Here we demonstrate its usefulness in several applications ranging from the kinetics of polymer crystallization to emulsion melting to additive manufacturing.
