The packing of biological molecules at a nanoaprticle surface, wether an emissive QD or a non-emissive AuNP, can have profound effects on the uptake and processing of the package by a mammallian cell.  In this presentation we will explore cel specifiic uptake patterns in multiple drug resistant (MDR) cancer cells and in STEM cells.  The selective uptake patterns provide insights into the nature of the process.
