Warm dense plasmas composed of highly asymmetric, by atomic mass and charge, mixtures are found in planetary systems, stars, internal confinement fusion capsules and nuclear applications. We utilize a variety of methods to simulate the dynamics of these mixtures at high temperatures, including orbital-free density functional theory, Yukawa potentials, effective-one component plasma theories and jellium models. On one side, the effect of heavy species on light element fusion reactions, through a change in the local thermodynamic conditions, will be discussed. One the other, we will discuss the complex transport dynamics for binary and ternary mixtures, where the timescales related to varying ion types are significantly different. Additionally, we will address the unique numerical challenges which accompany such systems, especially ternary mixtures.
