We have developed a de novo method to encapsulate biomolecules into metal–organic framework (MOFs). The enhanced performance arises from the interaction between the biomolecules the MOFs. Spectroscopy study shows that the structural conformation of the embedded biomolecules changes less under these reactions conditions than free biomolecules.
