This talk will focus on the development and application of electrospun nanofibers for water treatment and sensing applications. Specific examples include the fabrication of functionalized polymer-nanoparticle composite fibers for ion exchange, sorption and photoxidative treamtent.  Recent efforts have integrated spectrosopic and electrochemical methods so that point of use water treatment applications can also be used for sensing and water quality monitoring.
