Mechanistic insights into thiourea catalysts for ring-opening polymerization drove the development of new abilities in H-bond mediated ROP, particularly in the form of urea catalysts. Bis- and tris-urea H-bond donors have shown dramatic rate acceleration versus mono-urea yet retain the characteristics of “living” polymerizations. These catalysts are believed to be operative by one of two mechanisms: neutral H-bonding or imidate mediated. The operative mechanism largely depends on the polarity of the solvent. Our pursuit of more active and more controlled H-bonding catalysts for ROP continues apace, and this poster will discuss our latest advances.<br/>
