Since 2016 the American Chemical Society (ACS) has managed a variety of grants from the U.S. Department of State related to encouraging ethical conduct in the chemical sciences. Center to these activites is the Global Chemists’ Code of Ethics (GCCE), a science-driven, practitioner-based code of ethics used by chemists and related scientists and engineers all over the world to educate and raise awareness about the importance of responsible science and chemistry ethics. To date over 8,000 people have been trained in the GCCE and related topics, with safety, security, and ethical conduct at the core of all proceedings. This presentation will give an overview of the GCCE (which was informed by The Hague Ethical Guidelines), present the outcomes of follow-up events, and discuss the future of this initiative.<br/>
