It is a great challenge to convert light hydrocarbons to highly valuable compounds due to their low reactivity. Recently, we have made great efforts to develop novel photocatalytic processes and efficient catalysts for the conversion of methane and ethane to various valuable compounds. In this invited keynote talk, I’ll highlight those processes and catalysts with emphasis on visible light utilization.
