PEO-salt complexed systems have long been studied, because of their use in solid-state electrochemical devise. However, their ionic conductivity could not be increased beyond 10-4 S cm-1. Therefore, many approaches such as using polymers with different chain lengths, copolymers, and plasticizers have been adopted. Ionic liquids (ILs) have significantly been used for enhancing ionic conductivity since apart from providing additional mobile cations/anions, they can also act as plasticizer. We present a detailed study of physicochemical properties of conductive lyotropic liquid crystal (LLC) mesophases doped with ionic liquid. Generally, the electrical transport properties are affected by change in polymer chain rigidity, the amorphicity, and the IL-polymer and ion-ion interactions. Therefore, in this study, the changes in dielectric relaxation behavior, ionic conductivity, and degree of crystallinity have been measured experimentally in self assemble mesophases of block copolymer/IL mixture. The crystallinity and interaction of IL-polymer are significantly affected by IL concentration. The conductivity of nanochannels increases when the crystallinity of block copolymer is reduced.
