Recent years have seen a dramatic improvement in the technology and notations used to represent biologics, such as peptides, nucleic acids and antibodies.  As of March 2019, the NCBI's PubChem database contains over 526K compounds annotated with a biological line notation.  However there remain a number technical challenges and representational issues at the frontiers of what can currently be handled.  This talk discusses some of these issues, including the challenges created by the differing variants of Pistoia's HELM notation, and the representation of non-standard nucleic acids, lipids, protein variants and PROTACs.<br/>
