<br/>Water is a critical resource for sustainability and global security. This resource is becoming increasingly stressed with growing demand, and water quality is being increasingly degraded, making these sources less viable for potable use and requiring significantly more treatment prior to beneficial use. Because conservation measures alone generally do not sufficiently mitigate water shortages, reuse of water to offset consumption should be part of the approach. Enhanced membrane processes are needed to ensure the safety of the reclaimed water for reuse with a broader range of applications, including those with a higher degree of human contact. Here we present the treatment and re-use options of source separated gray water using a 10 GPM MBR/ Low Energy RO system. Water quality objectives presented address “How Safe is Safe” for high tier re-use to reduce water demand, navigate regulatory drivers, and deal with  increasing concern with pollution from pharmaceutical compounds, endocrine disruptors, and micro pollutants.<br/>
