Biomass is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels for the production of valuable chemicals. 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) derived from biomass is a representative platform chemical in order to convert valuable chemical. Metal nanoparticles (NPs) on zeolites show powerful catalytic property and high stability in aerobic oxidation of HMF into valuable chemicals. Herein, we introduce new strategy for metal oxide located on zeolites (MOx/Zeolite) as heterogeneous catalyst instead of incipient wetness impregnation. Then, we evaluated the catalytic efficiencies and investigated physicochemical properties of MOx/zeolite catalyst.
